I am an unemployed bum living on welfare and generally lazing about.

It would seem that tBP got the drop on me and sacked me before I could quit.

Bullshit.
"We are sacking you because we can't afford to pay your ass," is more correct.
So, I have been haunting Craigslist and Wifey's university and CareerBuilder and CalJOBS and headhunters and temp agencies looking for work.

four weeks on and all I have had was one and a half weeks covering a receptionist

BTW, I do NOT ever recommend going on the dole. Nothing is more humiliating than having mail from the state sent to your old name - especially after having jumped through hoops to get it changed in the first place - and then having to jump through a million and one more hoops just to find out that I don't qualify for much of anything (I got $85 for the past four weeks...granted, I made like $800 from the temp job) Anyway, I am trying to get into Paralegal training because I can't afford law school (not without $100,000 in loans - like anyone would give a tranny that kind of cash to go to school in the first place)

all before the state funding dries up.
